Review of Touch by Jus Accardo

Blurb:
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

Ok, first thing. Jus Accardo is not a person to foul around, or skip over the bush. She's the get-the-business-going type obviously. Because man, I never read a book as fast paced as Touch. And by that I mean that unlike most of books, there wasn't that slow introduction where you get to meet everyone and know more about the story setting... No, like I said before, no running around the bush with Jus. And although it was unusual for me, I love it. Loved how she sucked us into the story from the first page of the book.

This book was about the journey of a boy discovering and learning about the outside world and his struggle for freedom after being locked up his entire existence working for an organization called Denazan as an assassin. And also about a girl unveiling the truth about her existence, her family and most of all about herself. Truly an action-packed book, with lots of twists and turns that would leave your head spinning, at the edge of your seat throughout the whole book and with a serious itch for the next installment in the series.

And man, the topic in question, and the paranormal aspect in this book, the anomaly in the 6th chromosome was quite cool and original. Made me wish we had studied it in Bio this year other than the anomaly in the 5th chromosome or the 24th. Biology class would have been way more interesting, don't you agree guys XD

And the new and refreshing prospect of this book was Kale. He's a whole new different type of heroes. He's handsome, fiercely loyal and courageous, with kick-ass (and SLIGHTLY creepy :P) powers, all that dark hair blue eyes thing and the rest of the usual. But there's another side to Kale that we raaaarely get to see in the main leads and what made me love him even more. The guy is absolutely innocent, and I mean like baby-innocent. He seriously doesn't know anything, like nothing. The poor boy doesn't even know what a kiss is. Never laughed in my whole life as much as did in the scene where Dez was trying to give him "the talk" and try to explain the difference between like and LIKE XDDD Now we understand what parents go through while giving "the talk" LOL

“He sat up straight, eyes wide, and touched the tip of his index finger to his cheek. "What was that?"
I blushed. "A kiss."
"That's what a kiss feels like?"
"Well, technically. There are a lot of different types of—"
"Show me."
"Show you what?"
"Show me some other kinds."
"You're asking me to kiss you?"

Now I can't wait for Toxic to come out but at least I have the novella Untouched to keep me company and quell my thirst for more Kale-awesomeness ;)
